a friend said i should use msd coil and mod can i get by with the stock parts.it is hei

they make stock appearing coils and mods just look around i'm sure speedway or midwest motorsports has them.i wouldn't recomend useing the stock stuff unless you plan on running under 4500 rpm . myself i run an accell modual with a stock coil it will not turn more than 6500 and that is well over what i plan on turning ths stock mod falls off in the low 5000 rpm range

Another very advantageous coil and module is available from Nology Ignitions.
Check out www.nology.com.

Killer spark plugs, wires, coils, etc. And yes, they do make them for stock HEI's.

If you need their parts, just ask, too....we're a dealer.

Check out this month's edition of Speedway Illustrated. It has a story about the GM HEI ignition. It shows some different options and the results of their own testing.
