I know this might sound like a stupid question, but why can't you run a 82 model or up camaro in street stock?
I know there is not really a frame under it but can't you weld some supports under it and run it?
Just asking becase I don't really know.

At my track they do run those model camaro's. Its not that common. I'm not sure how they are doing it but they do run them.

it just depends on the track i guess i think so don't allow them because tof the torque link on the rear end and just like you said there is realy no frame on the front like the 2nd generation ones

Put an 80 or 81 front subframe under it, you can stretch the car to meet minimum wheelbase requirements thats what one of the guys i race with did Eddie P.S. He is pretty darn quick to boot plus the car handles great.

there are a lot of the 82-92 camaros running around here. a lot of the fast guys went to those cars, but some of them have gone back to the old camaros. the class that i run ,hobby, has a 108" wheelbase rule, so the guys that are running them are running super stock.

I am interested in hearing any more comments on this topic. I have a 85 camaro and would like to race it. Would this be too dificult a job for what it is worth? The rules only state: 1960 or newer american made stock passenger auomobile with factory steel top. Stock 108" wheelbase minimum. No altering.

do the 82' - 92' camaro meet these requirments?

they are 101 in. wheelbase. I had one almost done with stock configuration front, another cat was racing one with a older stub under it and taken' all the shows. the crying started so they changed the wheelbase rule, so there I was with a real nice useless car. He said the reason it was so fast was the torque arm on the rear

Your best bet would be 80 or older. Eddie
