I'm gonna run a powerglide in high gear, the general consensous for a 3/8 mile track is a 6.20 gear, will a 6.33 gear give me more rpm's than the 6.20 gear and would the 6.33 be a better choice. Thanks Eddie

when your figuring how many rpm you want to pull the higher the number of the gear ratio the more you will turn say you have a 3.08 and you want more rpm then the next step would be a 3.23. as for your choices there they bolth should work for you depending on what rpm you want to turn and what you have for a tire roll most guys around here are running those gears with 83-86 in tires

Why would you want to run a glide in high gear? You should run it in low gear. 1/2 mile 3.42 to 3.90 depending on track surface would give you the final drives. We run all these at different times of the year.In the spring when track stays tacky we run the 3.90 for couple weeks. Some tracks depending on corner speeds we run only the 3.42. Less is better if the track slicks up.dry slick and slick are different remember.

why would you want to run in low it is better for the life of the tranny in 1:1 gear. i run my t350 in 2nd gear just because i have to run a 7.5 rear end if i could run a ford i would run in drive
