I have recently purchased a hobby stock ('81 camaro) with a 355 basically stock except good heads and cam, gonna be running a short 1/4 mile track, pretty steep corners. Got my gearing about set right i think (around 6.50 i guess), runnning 900 in driver side front,1000 passenger side, 75 shocks in front,94 in rear. Not new to game, but been outta it for a while, was wanting some basic set-ups to run for the front end and stagger and ride heights, i am running d-55 hoosiers with a 10 in. wheel, any set up help will be greatly appreciated...this place rocks...thanks guys in advance

Hey Zoomba31. I'll offer some suggestions, or what I ran with my '79 street stock. Had a stock all cast 350 with a good cam and heads. I was on DOT rubber with 8" rims. I run a .3mile high banked fast track. Used 1000#LF, 1200#RF, 225#LR, and 200#rr with basically 50/50 shocks. You're gear seems low. I ran .688 (2.52trans x .273rear)total and would turn 6,700-6,800. With your bigger tires, etc., I would consider getting your gearing up around .7 or in the low .7's. Ran 0" stagger and did most of my adjusting with a couple pounds of air or swapping my 2" offset rim in the rear from right to left as needed. Hope that helps.

you want want a little more split on your front i had 100# and the front end wanted to hop if i went in the corner real hard 200 is a better split it changed it and never had the problem again and smayo is right you might want a little more gear with those big tires we run that set up on our imca cars with 205/75 tires and 9-1 motors i would go wit atleast 6.80's

Exactly what will change, handling wise, when you go from 100# split to 200# on the front springs? Will it tighten the car up on entry?

Been wondering that exact thing lately.
