I need some information on a Chevy 10 bolt 7.5(metric). I need to know if you can remove the old spider gear set-up and replace with another without disturbing the ring and pinion. My rear end is a 3.42 and I would like to go to a 3.73 I found a complete 3.73 but the spider gears are broke, the rest is good. Can I put in a mini-spool or replace the spider gears without taking out the gears themselves?

Yes you can install spiders or a mini spool without pulling the carier. Just remove the cross pin & c clips & pull the axles & the spiders will roll right out.

If you use the mini spool on a 7.5 you need to use the shim washers off the axle gears in order to keep your axles "tight".
