I think chassis flex might cause something to break if all the mounts are solid. Now if the mount can flex you might be ok. In my I-stock I use solid front mounts and a new stock rubber rear mount.

I have always run rubber motor mounts and solid tranny mounts, never broke a case. I had been told to do this but never really understood why. Thanks sleepy, the chassis flex is the awnser.

A rubber trans mount is going to help keep the trans case from taking all of the abuse.
Sort of like a shock for it.

I run solid engine mounts in front. Solid mid-mounts between the engine and Powerglide. And nothing supporting the tranny tail.

Been this way for 2 years without a broken case.
