Hey guys, I just had a bad experiance. I bought a plastic nose for my car this year, and the first time I went to wash it, my headlight decals came right off. I know that when you paint a plastic, you are supposed to use a mold release agent to get the paint to stick. Should I have done the same for my decals?????

I hope somebody with some 'sperience answers this post. I've run into the same problem. Same thing with the roll plastic I use for lower panels. This year I applied the decals AFTER I washed the plastic off with acetone. I'll let ya in on how it works out. It survived the first wash on Sunday---but I was really careful with the pressure washer.

Poboy when ever you paint plastic you should use what is called self etching primer before you paint im also putting a nose piece on my Nova this year was thinking about the decals also but if they are a pain to keep on the car i might can that idea. I know that the self etching primer keeps the paint from cracking and chipping. Eddie

Hi, I use to race late models and when i put the headlight decals on the plastic nose, the only thing i did was take some sandpaper and rough up the area, then put the decals on. They lasted all season and a few front end collisions, and still looked like i just put them on, hope this helps.
