go to your local junkyard and find a s-10 pickup with 4 cylinder 4 speed and take the carrier out of it ,chances are it will be a 373 and you could even get a 410 from a s-10 blazer 4 wheel drive oldgold

Hey guys, rookie here with my first post. I just got an S-10 posi unit for my 86 Monte rear, but the axles don't fit. If I counted correctly, the Monte axles are 26 spline, and the S-10 posi takes a 28 spline. Ratio on Monte rear is 3:73 and the new posi has 3:42. Do I have something wrong here, or did the yard give me the wrong assembly?

can you run a locked rear end or do you have to use the posi set up if you can lock it just put the ring and pinion in your monte housing

I thought about that also racer17j, but the rules are pretty specific w/ no locked rears or welding. Only factory posi.
