I was wondering what people do about replacing the factory steering columns. I have a 74 Camaro that has a tilt steering wheel in it, and I'm afraid that it might break during a race. I was just wondering what the best (cheapest) setup or modifications would be?

Day Motor sports i believe sells a kit that comes with shaft, steering wheel, heim joint, column bracket to get you started. All i did was cut the bottom section of the steering colum above the colapsable portion and weld the pipe to it etc remember you need the colapsable portion so that if you are in a head on the steering shaft will have the give in it.
