what would your suggestion be for a final drive gear in a metric car on a 1/4 medium banked dirt/clay surface. 355 with reasonable stuff in it. using hoosier asphalt takeoffs(track tire). will a 6.50 get me there? I also run on a slightly longer 1/4 from time to time and hoepfully will make a few shows on 3/8 also.

I have ran a 686 on both a 1/4 and a 3/8. On the 1/4 it was a little slow out of the corners. On the 3/8 it was perfect for me. At the end of the straights I was at 6300. If your motor has plenty of torque a 6.50 should be fine, if not get a little closer to the 700.
