Could someone tell me,about how to shim a HYD Throwout Bearing. I have stock clutch and pressure plate, with a 3-speed saginaw and a steel bell housing on a sbc.

Itís been my experience that you may not need to shim the t/o bearing with that combo. If you need to shim the t/o bearing itís real easy. With the transmission removed from the bell housing, measure the distance from the outside edge of the bell housing to the surface of the clutch fingers. Write this down somewhere, now put the t/o bearing on the trans and push it all the way back on the input shaft cone flange. Measure the distance from the flat part of the trans surface to the end of the t/o bearing. This should match the measurement you took earlier. If it doesnít , add shims behind the t/o bearing. The throw out bearing kit should come with shims. Iíve never had to use any. Good Luck. Deed
