I was wondering where to mount my rear shocks. I run a metric car (80' gran prix). Do I mount infront or behind or on top of the rear end , angled forward or backwards, and slanted in- towards the chunk or straight up and down.

Hughes, usually the rules require "stock mount location", and really, the stock location is not all that bad. Should you decide to use the lower trailing arm brackets off your 10 bolt for your new 9 in., the shock mounts are already there.

Just remember to keep the shocks in a safe location (for the shock) and don't let the shock body touch the housing. the shocks will get hot after a lot of use so don't shield them with anything unless the shock is in more danger from that than heat. I have had shocks get damaged from flats thou.
Don't spend a bunch of time trying to think of some mindblowing technology, remember the car builders spent millions of dollars for you already to find what works best. put your thought into what racing shocks will work best on your local track.
