On my street stock we have to use a stock Rod. carb, either 2 or 4 bbl. We are limited to a stock 4bbl cast iron intake, and stock heads. I am going to use the 64-66 double hump heads I have. I was thinking of running a Q-jet, but was told that a 2 bbl would work just fine. I can't run a cam with more than .525" lift and the track is a 1/2 mi semi banked. Probably turn 7000-7,500 max. Ofcourse my thinking was bigger is better, but then again it isn't always better .

A 2 bbl. might work fine, but a good Q-jet will work better.

Get one of the big q-jets. Like came on th e502 Caddy. With a little tuning-----you'll be smokin!

if you are allowed use a high volume fuel pump with 1/2 inch line and a regulator plumbed in a return line to the cell a quad has a small float bowl and can empty under hard use but is a very good carb when setup right.big ones go 830 cfm and you can,t over carb the secondaries only give what the engine can use.

you didn't tell us what engine your running. to find out what cfm you need go to there is a formula for the carb. at some tracks you can run a alum. intake if you run a two barrel if this is your situation you've got a lot to think about. if you can only run cast iron this is a easy one 4 barrel all the way. and yes the big qjs work quite well
