I was curious where to locate the brake caliper on the rear end housing. Does the
position (front or rear) of the axle matter?
I see the fronts are "behind" the spindle.
Does this mean the rears HAVE to be behind
the axle? Would it make a difference on a
stock trailing arm suspension?
Thanks for the input.

almost always they are placed forward of the axle centerline. i dont know why it is. its just the way the companies do things and probably will always do things.

Front or rear doesn't matter. There is no difference in handling. If you stagger them just remember you will need to have 2 calipers from the same side so the bleeders will be on top. Just put them where ever you need for clearance.
