I've run a Holley 500 on my cruiser for 2 seasons without touching it.

I run a holley and so does everyone at the track I run at, all the fast guys anyway.

I would reccomend to pro sportsman 4412 by barry grant, it passes all tech inspections for a stock carb, and it runs great...

Perhaps I can help as well? I'm not entirely sure what exactly you meant by "best 500cfm 2bbl", tho...did you mean the most heavily modified or one that is most easy to just drop on right out of the box and tune the least for your motor's specific needs based on your track's rules?
In either case, Kinetic Performance can fill any request from the most basic, stock carb, to custom-machined "outlaw style" carbs for gas or alcohol applications.

Drop me a line here, or PM me, or email us at
kineticperformance@thedirtforum.com and I'd be glad to assist.

Thanks,

Barry Grants 4412 is a great carb. But we got checked for carbs visiting a different track and the inspector pulled the base plate from the main body and then gauged it and we were discualified.
