I run a pair of two-chamber Flowmaster mufflers on my streetstock. I love the way the car sounds, and I believe that they lessen fatigue while driving and working on the car. Do you guys think there's a noticable power loss when using these type of mufflers? I run headers into 3" pipe about 2.5 feet long then into the mufflers and finally dumps downwards shortly after (just past the driver's seat).

RR, I run spiralflow mufflers from moroso on my SS. I called moroso and they told me that they take away some high end HP, but give you 3-5 more ft-lbs. on the low end. One of the other racers said he had his motor dynoed with and without. He said he did not see a difference on the dyno but did feel a difference on the track. ????? If it sounds good and keeps the neighbors happy keep them, whats a couple HP? Just out drive them with the best sounding car. Deed

Hey, while we're on the subject of exhaust, I just picked up a set of headers at a swap meet. They are the tri-Y design. I've only seen those in old books and stuff; so do they work, or what? One thing that troubles me is that, although the primary tubes are about average size, the collector is surprisingly small- about 2 1/2" in diameter compared to my old 3" headers. What can you guys tell me about tri-Y headers?
