we run a street stock. we have recently scaled the car. total weight (no driver) 3,376lbs. rear%- .47% front%- 53% left side%- 51% cross%- 52% our rules state that the car only has to weigh 3200 with driver. i don't know what to do about the rear percentage, i know it should be around 52 to 53. any suggestions, i thought about adding more weight to the rear? thanks for the help, ktru87

Since you already meet the weight requirement, I would try to take weight off the front before adding weight to the rear.

Put your driver in and scale again. Your percentages will be more favorable. The guys I know that scale without driver weight seem to always have this ballest in the car on race night.

Sounds like its time to get out the torch and start cutting the factory sheet metel out of the interior. Cut out all the kick panels, the inner firewall (leaving just a single sheet of metal), anything else you don't need. You didn't say what make of car, but on a camaro, there is 285 LBs. of metal to be cut away. Don't count on the unibody parts of the car for strength, that's what the cage is for, get to cuttin!
