What are some signs that my Landrum leaf springs are wore out? I have a problem with the car pushing on a good, tacky track, but when it is a loose track like hot laps and dry-slick features it handles perfectly. When I scaled the car the LF,LR,and RR all had close to the same weights, while the RF was considerably lighter.

Any help would be appreciated,
Kevin

You didn't say how old the springs are.I know in a modified they start losing thier tension after just a few weeks. That's why you always see them with a jack under them in the pits when they aren't running. They can be re-bent to bring the spring back to near new.But the more they are re-bent,the faster they lose their tension.

if it handles good on dry slick i wouldn't touch it heat races don't pay anything and around here it always goes dry slick for the mains maybe you have a different situation tho have you tried more stagger on the front or a different offset on the tacky track

No, I haven't tried front stagger. My front tires are about the same rollout. I guess I could pull the RF in or the RR out with offset. That should loosen it up. Yeah that's about the way it it here too, but my problem is the track is one-groove and after I draw a bad number, like I always do, and only have one heat to determine my feature starting position I'm in trouble if I do bad in the heat.

thats ***** here we line up by piont averages so as long as you finish the heat you get your spot they invert the top 6 so if you have the 6th highest piont ave you get the pole and so on. you might just want to try to go up a coulple # of air on the rr to see if that wouldn't looseen it up a little

what type of tire are u running? i run hoosier like the latemodels and i have about 3 in stagger on front and 2 on rear during feature race. i run 90's on left and 92's on right. if u are running the same size tires on front that may be a big problem. as for springs my buddy here has been track champ for 3 years straight and he runs the same old leafs he's had on there for ever. ive run the same ones for over two years now. i hear new ones help but he says different and he is the man to ask around here. later scott
