hey, does anyone know if there is anyway to tweak a powerglide tranny? Not talking direct drive either. I have heard some stuff, but not sure.
Thanks for any help!!

I run a powerglide set up in a streetstock 78 malibu and it performs very well. 1st you need a rear pump -what this does is allow rotation of the drive shaft to pump the fluid and this in turn will rotate the engine-in other words if you get in a fender bender on the track and stall out you can get a push like the guys with the manuals. next you need to have a torque converter that is both light and hooks up at low rpm. the lightness will help reduce rotating mass which will help you come off the corner harder and the hook up will keep you from stepping into the gas only to find that you spinout every time. borg-warner is the brand clutches i use and they haven't failed me yet. forget the cooler in the radiator put a tranny cooler in the passenger side and put a electric fan on it.
theres lots more but thats a start.
