We run the Hoosier DOT Dirt tire, 265/60D-15. The recommended rim width for these tires is 8". Yet everyone at the track run these on a 10" rim. Is there an advantage of running the wider rim? Anyone have experience with both rims same size tire?
What would be a good starting point for air pressure? Thanks for your help. Deed

We used to run the 275/60 Hoosiers on a 10 inch rim. Using the wider rim stretchs out the width of the tire giving you more tire contact patch. But you have to be careful and not go to wide for the tire or it will bow the tire up around the center of the tread. We ran around 15 lb air pressure max.
You should be ok with the 265's on a 10 inch rim.

Thanks once again ow. I do appreciate your help. I went back to your site and few more pictures down loaded, that # 17 is one good looking car. My number is also 17. I saw some really good ideas on the shots of the cars being fabbed up. Thanks again. Deed

Thanks deeddude, that is my car that owracer and his brother built for me.They sure spent some time to make it look good. As an old D.W. fan, I just couldn't run any other number!

Dirtracer do you remember what font your numbers are made in. I like that style. My number is also 17. I wanted 11 first (Neil Bonnet) but it was taken, so I went with 17. Deed

Sorry deeddude, all I can tell you is that I got them from Speedway Graphics.1-800-40-DECAL. You might call them ,every time I have ordered from them I just tell them what I want and it has been right.I have ordered several times from them and have not been sorry yet. I tried another place once and was not happy,I called speedway and they had my order to me in about 3 days. I won't use anyone else. Wish I could be more help.

Thanks for your help Scott, but I've already got the numbers made. I found some that I thought would work. I numbered the car Wednesday night. Looks like a real racecar now. The guy who made the numbers owns the company CVD. I found the font in an old issue of SCR, he scanned a picture of the numbers I wanted and made them from that. Went to his shop Tuesday evening and had them the next day. This guy is a racer and does great work. He has done work for several touring car teams including Ferrari. Thanks again for the help. Deed
