I AM IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A 355 STREET STOCK ENGINE.RULES SAY STOCK 5.7 RODS NO POLISHING.WHAT ARE THE BEST ROD FOR THIS ENGINE? SOME PEOPLE SAY X- RODS OTHERS SAY O- RODS AND OTHERS SAY K-RODS. I HAVE ONE SET OF EACH. THE X&O-RODS SEEM THIN ON THE SMALL END.THE K-RODS SEEM BEEFER ON THAT END.I ALSO HAVE A SET OF RODS FROM AN OLD DRAG MOTOR,THEY LOOK THIN ON THE SMALL END,BUT ON THE BIG END THEY SEEM TO HAVE MORE, ESPECIALY NEAR THE ROD BOLT. I ONLY HAVE 6 OF THOSE AND I CANT FIND ANOTHER SET.WHATS MY BEST BET. P.S. I INTEND ON FLOATING THE PIN .NO BUSHING.

i have alwayz heard the X rods were the best. just what i have heard. no matter which ones you decide to use, be sure to have them magnafluxed. i waz going to use some X rods one time, when my engine man let me in on a set that looked stock. they cost about the same the X rods were going to cost to get machined, and were brand new. i also had these rods floated without using a bushing. had no problems with them. still using them.

Run the new powder coated rods. You can buy them from Jim Pace Performance Parts or Scoggin ****ey...best bang for the buck by far. I've run them with no problems.
