I am getting ready to install my safety belts and racing seat in my SS car. This is my first time doing this. Does anyone have any good advise as to what is the best way to install these? Should I mount the side belts to the floor board or how should I go about this? Thanks ahead.

NEVER MOUNT THEM TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THEY NEED TO BE MOUNTED TO THE CAGE. FOLLOW MANUFACTURES RECCOMENDATION ON INSTALL

When you mount your seat make sure you mount it to the cage, not the floorboard. That way if your cage gets knocked of the frame you will still be bolted to the cage and you will move with the cage and not have the cage hit you, cause you didnt move. I have seen this happen one time...A car got hit in the side and it knocked the cage over. Also when installing it make sure you use BIG washers under the bolts. When you mount your seat belts weld a tab to the cage or frame and bolt the belt to this. Like custom said pay attention to the illustrations...

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ASSUMING YOU HAVE BOLT IN TYPE BE SURE TO USE GOOD BOLTS I ALWAYS USE GRADE 8 AND NO LESS THAN 3/8" IT MAY BE OVERKILL BEING GRADE 8 BUT ITS NO USE HAVING A STRONG BELT AND A BOLT THAT SHEERS.

WITH THE FRAME MADE INTO PART OF THE CAGE I HAVE CONNECTED BOTH LAP BELTS TO THE FRAME WITH 2"X 3/16" STEEL BARS THAT IS WELDED TO THE FRAME. HAVE A FREIND WHO ALSO DOES THIS BUT USED GRADE 5 BOLTS IN DUBBLE SHEER. SHULDER BELTS GO OVER SEAT AND BOLTS TO A PEICE OF 1 1/2"X3/16" ANGLE THAT IS WELDED FOR 3" ALONG HORIZONTAL BAR BEHIND SEAT. MY SUBMARINE BELT IS CONNECTED SIMALLARY TO THE LAP BELTS BUT ONLY USES 1/8" STEEL.
