Can anyone tell me why a metric frame is better than a standard. I am getting ready to build a new street stock for next year and would like some opinions. My track requires a full frame car with at least a 108" wheelbase. I am planing on building on a 1984 Monty Carlo that I already have. I ran a bomber class this year and am wanting to move up.Thanks in advance

I don't race one, but the main advantages I can think of is that metric frames are lighter than the earlier years, have a shorter wheelbase, and are very plentiful.

The big difference is weight.A metric car can weigh from 2800 lbs up race ready. Also parts availablity, the cars are almost identical( montes, cutlass, regal, gran prix, malibu).

In Texas the metric frames are taking over since the older cars are getting tough to get your hands on.Most of the tracks are begining to phase out the older big frame cars.
