I have windows ME and cannot get the darn pedals to work, it might be time to take them back, this si what I have posted on another site can anybody help me????

Ok here it is, I have purchased the Wing Man formula force GP wheels and pedals, the steering wheel works fine but there is no response from the pedals.
If you need to know I have a Gateway system, athlon processor and i'm running Windows ME, I have been in contact with 2 other people with the same setup and their's are not working either, can anybody help me out

dirtfan51,
I received the same wheel for Christmas and in about 8 minutes everything installed and worked fine. I did need to go into the controller setup windows and allow the gas and brake to be on two seperate axis(es?) but other than that, everything worked great and I took a full .10 off my best time with only 10 laps on the new wheel before X-mas dinner...More info could help me help you more. One thing, did you install the driver disk before plugging the USB plug in? Also I would check the phone style connection of the pedals to the base unit too. Hope this helps...

\The funny thing is that it works with the game that came with the Wing Man wheel.
I uninstalled the program and than reloaded it and then plugged the USB afterwards and I still cannot get it to work with DTR and Nascar 3, does anybody have any other suggestions?

It could be your directX, I think 7.0a is the latest, I would defineately get that.

I have ME but haven't had time to mess with my wheel/dtr game stuff yet. I'll look around for info also. In the meantime, there is a very good message board at www.onlineracing.cc that seems to be full of techies. See what they can do for ya.

I uninstalled DTR and now the pedals work, but they still don't with Nascar 3.
There is Direct-X 8 out, should I download that one? I found it on the MSN site.
I did post on the online racing board but have not had much luck there.
Bump what kind of system did you buy?

It turns out that I didn't calibrate the wheel and pedals properly, I can now use the darn things

PIII 800e
256 Meg RAM
30 gig HD
Soundblaster Live! mp3 + 5.1
Geforce2 32mb Dualhead Video Card ( I have no idea what possesed me to purchase a dual output video card, it sounded cool and for the same price as a VooDoo5)
HP 9141 8x CD-RW

It was one of those spur of the moment decisions, I was frustrated by my old computer's problems which seemed terminal. I kept telling myself "NO, I don't need a new one" but couldn't convince myself. Hopefully I won't have to purchase again for another 4 years.
