I am thinking about building a new 1/4 - 3/8 mile dirt track and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or knew how to go about getting started??

Thanks.

I think market reasearch would be the best place to start. After that I think a trip to the bank would be next. (either to deposit the money ya just about blew or to take out a BIG loan) I think I'd contact a promoter with a proven track record and enlist his services--experience is worth whatever the price you'll pay. I'd secure a piece of property where I wouldn't be worried about residentual uprisings-but not too far from a major city-a lot of tracks are built in the middle of nowhere--hard to draw fans to even the nicest facility if they have to re-fuel on the way!
I'd have a soil sample to determine whether the dirt at my location was right for racing!
Then I'd hire myself a good dirt contractor to begin excavating a high banked 3/8 mile bullring!

I don't know where you are but there is a track in East Texas for sale. Built in '97, the owner died last year. His wife finished the year with it. Call Leroy Daniels at 903 - 235 - 3873. It all sounds pretty good. Asking price is $150,000.

Thanks for the info, but I live in Southern Tennessee.

Well--root up and move to East Tennessee and lease this track at Jeroldstown road. Put in a decent access and you'll be in business. I know the owner and he is "motivated" to deal.
