I recently went down to Thunder Mountain Speedway in Jacksonville, TX. I live in Iowa so it was about a 18 hour drive but it was well worth the trip. I met up with Jerry Guest of Eagle Chassis and let me tell you I was fully impressed. He let me turn a few laps in one of their house cars during the thursday night practice. The car did exactly what he said it would. Very easy to drive and wow did it stick in the corners. He didnt have the claw on this one to begin with but it still came off the corners like a rocket. He later put on the claw just to show me the difference and it made a huge impovement, instead of the car lifting up coming of it seemed to just plant the tires hard and take off. And when I would go into the corners it was like hitting a curb with the amount of sidebite it has. Jerry is one of the nicest men I have ever met. He treated me like I had known him for years. His entire family was very fun to get along with. I cant wait to be driving one of his ne Eagle III mods next year in this new sponsor program. I fully believe he can and will help me to win a championship. I am hoping to go down to his place to pick up my new car sometime in January. Thanks Jerry and all of your family for the great night of racing. Russ

Jerry is a great guy and understands his cars very well. What is impressive is that he hasn't had 100's of cars out there in very capable hands ironing out the problems for him and giving him feedback. He has developed this car through his own engineering and methods. Not that I think the cars need refining but it can't hurt when there will be numerous cars running every weekend next year to draw feedback from. I think it is awesome the attitude that Jerry has about racing, He will tell you that he wants to help everyone he can be fast or faster. I'm more excited about the Eagle deal than I've been about anything to do with racing in a long time. I wish Jerry and Jeff the best of luck tonight if it don't rain.
Mike

It was a disaster!! Friday was rained out with about 3 inches of rain. Saurday, the track was so rough, I couldn't seem to get the car to on stay on the ground. Sunday the car was faster than I have ever seen it. We had a guy come down off the wall in front of us and slam on the brakes. We went over his left rear tire and and across the front. Knocked a hole in the oil pan and took out the right front tire.

We got the pan fixed and went to the C main. What we didn't know was that we had broken the tail housing on the trans also. It was cracked all the way around in TWO places. That finished us off, so we loaded it on the trailer. That's Racing!!

All in all the car was very impressive. We had better lap times than the guy who won it. 3/10s faster. That doesn't mean much. "To finish first, first you have to finish" We just didn't get that far. There's always another race.

Russ,

We really enjoyed having you come down. The car sure looked like it fit you well. You really looked at home in it. It was such a pleasure to get to know you and Dan. We also feel like we have known you for years. That's the way we are here at Eagle. We ARE a Family of Teams. Welcome to our Family.

Mike,

Thanks so much for your hospitality. We are looking forward to coming back and race with you as soon as we can get your new Eagle III in your hands. You really made us feel right at home at Thunder Mountain. EVERYONE made us feel welcome. Thanks so much.

Jerry

Mike,

You won't have to worry about me beating you, I don't drive any more. I sure do like the country up there. We are looking around for some property, but it will be a while before would do anything. I have a lot of cars to build first.

You might want to get on the good side of Mike Danielson. As you know he is getting an Eagle III, aslo.

Hey Guys,

Let's get together and go to Jammin's Practice in March. I am planning to go and help out. That would be a good time to get some final adjustments done on your cars. I will bring as many spares as I can haul, so we can make changes to the cars as needed. We'll just do it as part of the Sponsorship Program. Let me know your feelings on this.

Russ,

Everything is cut, formed and notched. Will go on the jig today. Got behind a litte on this last trip to Dallas. I had to get these 2 cars delivered, just to free up the shop some more. LOL

We have 2 on the assembly dollies and the next 3 on the jigs. Guess who's is one of those? LOL 112?
