when it says in a rule book that a car must pull at least 16 inches of vacuum @ 1000 rpm what exactly does that mean. Thanks for youre help as you can see Im just now trying to get a car together and am pretty new to all this.

It means when the car is idling they will set the idle up to 1000 rpms with a vacuum guage connected to the intake or carb. and it must pull 16 lbs. of vacuum.

which means that when you are building your motor you should not go with a real big cam--because the bigger the cam the less the vacuum it creates. it sounds like the track that you are running at is trying to keep a "pure stock" class

Thanks yall for youre help, also do all crusier class cars have the two man, one works throttle the other steers and brakes, rules? If so then what class is just the stock class where you take an old car out and race it stock? Thanks yall for youre help. DixiePride.
