hey monster....a lot of tracks have their own rules...no chevy's is a big one. some say only a single loop for a roll bar others require kickers and harnesses and the whole bit. most are now running on only 7 cylinders as well. some say no extra steel on the car others require rub rail and the whole deal. you will just have to check with the track or other guys that have run the same track before. good luck.

Thanks Guys and good luck. This looks like a rough class. I will have to get a large car! LOL.

I run a cruiser at Fairmont Mn Raceway and our rules are-- No chevys, must break one plug off flush and ground it to the frame, must wear fire suits, driving gloves, Snell approved helmets, neck braces, Alum. racing seats, five point harnesses, window nets, six point roll cage with at least three door bars on each side--but it looks like our rules on safety equiptment is alot stricter then most tracks--but the cruisers up here have gotten real fast--nearly as fast as the hobby stocks.

when i raced cruisers we just knocked the windows out put the gas tank in the trunk ,pulled a plug wire and put a single roll bar and kickers in it we ran on a very small 1/4 and don't think we hit more than 45-50 on a good nite but had more fun then any other type of racing i ever have done. if the track had not closed i would still be running them now

Wow! Pull one plug wire?? I hadn't heard of that, but I can see how there might be a need to slow 'em down a bit - especially in a two-driver-team. The only place I've had a chance to watch 'em is Tulsa Oklahoma, and the rules are pretty simple there, basic cage, no Chevys, Street tires but no 60 series, no welding the rearends, and the biggie = $500 claim by anyone in the pits or the stands with cash and a driver's license. we had the same claim rule but you would draw out of a hat and thats the car you got so nobody ever did it for fear of what they might get for 500 lol
