Like I mentioned in the posting I made about websites there is so much marketing involved with raceteams today, even short track dirt teams. Because of the cost factor.

I got involved in website design and all the other things my business does because I was doing them for my raceteam and my friend's raceteams. So I figured why not do it as a business?

The other things I can help you with besides websites are all little inexpensive things.

Business cards, office stationary and all printed media material(Newsletters, annoucements,etc.) Lettering and graphics, Racing cards and posters, promotional items such as pens, mugs, koolies, keychains, etc.

I also have gotten into the apparel business lately. I do embroidery for drivers uniforms and can custom design you hats, polo-shirts, jackets and many other embroidered products. We also have access to sil screened apparel items such as t-shirts and sweatshirts.

All these things we offer have one thing in mind. To help the racer maintain and get more sponsorship and fan exposure. The more things you get floating around with your name on it the better it is for your marketing value. All these things have became just as important as buying springs and shocks. Because you need these things to get the sponsoships to buy those springs and shocks.

Something drivers forget that they can do is to pass out their sponsors business cards and the little gadgets they may have with their business names on them. When we had "flag night" at our track, the drivers would pull the cars to the track and the spectators were allowed on the track to get autographs. A lot of our drivers had "treat bags" filled with pencils, key chains, magnets, flashlights, calendars and you name it, it was there - they gave these to the kids. Some of them actually had posters of themselves they were giving away with their autograph on them. One of our drivers made cups with their picture on it and autographed those.

Whether you are marketing yourself as a driver or team, you are also marketing your sponsor. It's amazing how the kids influence their parents into "who their favorite" driver is and WHO they end up doing business with by what they bring home on these nights.

Also doing online giveaways for registering parties during the week with the sponsor's and race team's logos on them helps too. There are so many things that you can do.

We had a guy from our track who was sponsored by a pizza place. Once a month he would display his car out front of the resturant and take pictures of kids sitting inside holding a checkered flag. He would then autograph the picture and give it to them.
That place always had good business on those nights.
When we have our fair night or car show before the season, I always pass out coupons, from some of my sponsors. Free ice cream cone, or fliers of their prices, things like that.
