Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY Needs Your Help...
…in a big way. Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell received this notice/letter on Friday, April 25 (Notice it is dated April 16).
The following is a typed copy of this notice/letter:

April 16, 2003

David Farrell
Bluegrass Speedway
2221 New Haven Road
Bardstown, KY 40004

Under the County Nuisance Ordinance (passed 12/3/2002), emission of noise between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. which is audible fifty (50) feet from the property line of the property on which the source of the noise is located becomes a violation and is subject to a $500 fine and thirty (30) days plus court expenses.

To further mitigate noise during racing hours, you are hereby ordered to require functioning mufflers to be used at all times. Any violation of this will be considered a violation of the alcohol beverage law, KRS 244.120 and subject to fines accordingly.

The drivers all tell me that they want to abide by these requirements and that being said, I have appointed a special agent to act upon my behalf to see that these rules are enforced.

I do wish you success and would enjoy paying your track a visit as time permits.

Best regards,
Dean Watts
