After moving into second Whitehead closed up the gap between him and Barcelona and as they came out of four was under Barcelona, they ran down the front straightaway almost wheel to wheel. Whitehead finished second. Mark Hardwick third, Leonard Barrileou fourth and Chad Bush fifth.

Cassano got second and Holt third. Holt got under Cassano and they ran Wheel to wheel, then Collett moved up and he ran wheel to wheel with Holt. Again Holt got under Cassano and they ran wheel to wheel down the front straightaway for second, but Cassano hung on. Schnebelen took the win, Cassano second, Holt third, Collett fourth and Ainsworth fifth.
