Tazewell Speedway results 7-20-02 (Tazewell, TN) Steve Smith wins his second
feature in three weeks at Tazewell Speedway driving the James Vanover #201
Warrior race car.

Super Late Models:
Fast qualifier Jason Trammell 11.626 and Steve Smith started on the front row.
Smith beat Jason Trammell in to turn one, but Jason was below, above and glues to
Smith bumper for the whole race. Ricky Rogers and Mark Brooks battled it out for
third place early in the race. Dennis Harris got by Greg Burchett on lap seven and
Harris headed to the pits. On the restart Smith still held Jason Trammel at bay,
followed by Rogers, Brooks and Jeff Wolfenbarger. Troy Eads was the mover and
shaker in his Mopar powered machine. Eads passed Brian Smith and Fred England
and took over seventh place on lap nine, on lap seventeen Eads took sixth place and
took over fifth when he got by Wolfenbarger. Brian Smith caught Eads asleep at the
wheel on the backstretch on the white flag lap and they got together and Brian Smith

took fifth place back.

Steve Smith driving the #201 James Vanover Warrior race car, Wheels Used Cars,
P.J. Builders, Custom Engine with the "For Sale" sign on the side took the Super
Late Model win with Jason Trammell on his bumper.

Limited Late Models:
Fast qualifier Marlin Bull 12.714 starting from the inside front row beat Dale Huskey
in to turn one. While behind them Chris Brooks, Leonard Bray and Rex Coffey got
together for a complete restart. It was still Bull beating Huskey on the restart
followed by Casey Huffman, Gary Willis and Clyde Stanton. The first two laps Keith
Chapman, David Gamble and Scott Gardner keep the action hot running three wide
around the Taz. Gardner was below Chapman on lap seven in a fight over seventh
place. Huskey stopped on the backstretch to bring out the caution on lap thirteen. It
was Bull showing the lights on the restart followed by Huffman, Willis, Stanton and
Gamble the top five on the restart. Gamble got below Stanton on the front stretch
and Stanton hit the wall. Stanton was not happy about Gamble passing him and
under caution, Stanton on the low side of Gamble pulled across and in front of
Gamble on the backstretch under caution. Stanton went on the hook and Gamble
went to the pits a smoking.

Marlin Bull went on to take the win driving the J.T. Kerr Stinger racecar, Best
Paving, Mighty Muffler sponsored #8 car.

Modified Street:
Fast qualifier Craig Moore 14.558 let Anthony Morgan beat him in to turn one on the

start followed by J. Harrell Smith, Tim Grindstaff and Tony Trent. Lap one Tony
Trent passed J. Harrell Smith for fourth place. Laps seven and eight Tony Trent was
below Grindshaff. The caution flew on lap twelve for Grindshaff and Tony Trent
headed to the pits over heating.
The restart saw Morgan still out front followed by Craig Moore, J. Harrell Smith,
Jason Long and Donnie Rich. Smith brought out the caution on lap fourteen, moving
Rick Welch in to the fifth place.

Anthony Morgan from Morristown driving the Hopson racing and Fabrication #26
went on to take another win giving him his eighth feature win sticker to put in the
car.

Fast qualifier John Whitaker 16.253 pulled Marty Bain on the start followed by Jesse

Hoover, Mike Bright and Eddie Younce. Laps one and two Younce worked the low
side of Bright. Lap twelve Jerry Hurst rode the backstretch wall to bring out the
caution. The top five remained the same on the restart. Whitaker and Bain pulled out

to a half a track led over third place.
John Whitaker driving the Dodge Pickem up truck sponsored by Whitaker's custom
sawing were on to take the Win.
