Well the day started out pretty good. Shane finally got himself another car and we took it to the track and dropped it off early. Took mine to the track and had just after they got done watering the track and packing it down the skies opened up and we got dumped on for about 10 minutes. Man that sure messed the track up. Went out for hotlaps and the car just did not want to run right. It was spitting and sputtering like crazy. After 2 hotlaps I pulled off the track. We checked the carb out and everything seemed to be ok. Shane and Brian Cox (driver 138 Cruiser) adjust it some.

Heat Race
Started inside 2nd row and just could not get the car to do anything. As I would head into the corners it would start to cut out on my and bog down. At one point it started to bog down and then it broke loose and I got into the side of the 48 car and traded a little paint with him. I held on and finished 6th.

I went up to the stands to talk to Kathy and ran into the driver of the 48. He pointed his finger at me and I told him I did not get into him on purpose. I told him the car was running real bad and it was an accident and Sorry about that.

Main Event

Started on the outside of row 9 (17 out of 23). The back was a good place for me. Could not get the carb problem figured out and just wanted to hang on, stay out of trouble and get some points. Fell back pretty quick and since I was running so bad I tried to stay as low as I could on the track. It was a pretty uneventful race with no cautions until the last few laps. With about 5 laps to go the lead cars started lapping me. The 1st and 2nd place guys went by with no problems. But the again Ernie Jones and John Benefiel are good clean drivers. With about 2 ˝ 3 laps to go the 3rd place car, Chris Cox in the #48, came up on me. I was low on the track down the straight and as we came to the corner he got into the back of my car and started pushing. About half way thru turn 2 he got my going around and spun me out on purpose. The car stopped just coming out of T2 with the nose out in the track. Tried to get it to start, but the temp gauge was at 265 and it was blowing water out of the overflow. My night was done. When they finally got the car pushed back to the pits, I went to the pit tower to complain. They said they were already calling him up to the tower to chew him out. A lot of good that did. He got yelled at and finished 3rd. I got ******* and finished 18th.

We’ll just see what happens on the 6th of July. That is our next race.
