Sroufe, Broughman & Wilson take "topless night"
features!

Quincy MI (June 15, 2002) - What can we say about Late Model driver Terry Stroufe of Huntington IN who once again took the "A" feature for 2nd time as well as being the points leader this season at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy MI. Sroufe and Logan Beckwith of Hanover MI battled for 1st place for the whole race, then in lap 23 Sroufe was finally able to make the pass on Beckwith to take the checkered flag. Finishing third was Ryan Gorney, Randy Archer, Tim Wilber, Marv Burroughs, Zac Davis, Tim Stott, Scott Graff and Mark Dowdy. With the threat of rain and cool weather it didnít stop the drivers from going TOPLESS. Zac Davis of Adrian MI takes his first "B"feature win followed by Jeff Lajoye, George Lindsey, Mark Dowdy and Dan Bronson. Heat winners were Logan Beckwith, Ryan Gorey of Decta MI and Greg Cooper of Coldwater MI. If you are into TOPLESS, then plan on attending August 10, as the OUTLAW Late Models go TOPLESS. Late Models take to the Track every Saturday night at 7:30pm on the fastest 3/8-Mile HIGH BANKED Oval Dirt Track in Quincy MI.

Even the winged Sprints joined in on the TOPLESS race with the removal of their WINGS. Sprint car 22 driven by Aaron Shaffer of Tekonsha MI found it a little bit of a challenge without his wings. In the"A" feature he encountered problems in the 2nd lap, turn 3 sent him over the HIGH BANK, he returned to the track but on Lap 16 he and Daryl Shaffer also of Tekonsha MI collide in turn 1 taking both cars out the race. Mark Broughman of Hillsdale MI takes the feature win followed by Chuck Wilson, Sean Robinson, Bob Dooley, Mark Steman, Bob Thoms, Troy Chehouski, Gerry Hart, Steve Zabonick and Tom Patterson. Mark Boyer of Fremont Indiana took the "B" main followed by Steve Zabonick, Daryl Schaffer, Tom Patterson and Ken Quimby. Heat winners were Bob Dooley of Quincy MI, Chad Delogrange of Waterloo IN and Troy Chehouski of Coldwater MI. Sprints race every Saturday night at Butler. Plan on attending on August 3 for the World War III Sprint Shootout with $5000 to win GLOSS from MI, IN, WI and OH Sprints, as well as the 360 SOD Sprints.

Butler Motor Speedway 2001 Street Stock Champ Eric Wilson is off to another great start this year, of the last 4 races Eric has found himself in the WINNERS CIRCLE 3 times and placed 3rd in the other race. In the first lap Bill Howard and Eric Swan collided in turn 2 both cars left the race, then under the green Bob Littlejohn hit the wall but he was able to continue. Doug Nichols and Frank Waller collided causing a restart. Lap 8 got a little hot for Kent Dirschell when a fire broke out under his hood, the fire was put out in no time, Dirschell was uninjured but his car was not able to return to the race. In this TOPLESS night following Eric to his win were Mark George, Jeff Wadsworth, Jeff Hinkley JR, Glenn Heath, Grady Jarrell, Randy Patton, Cameron Speith, Rob Jones and Doug Mc Lachlan. The "B" Main went to Jeff Hinkley JR followed by Steve Denbrock, Fred Van Evey, Rob Jones and Doug McLachlan.
