Ainsworth Took His First UMP Feature

Fred Hastings and Charles Womack shared the heat wins for Pure Stock. Hastings led early on then drifted back while Charles Womack moved to the lead. The rest of the race Womack had his hands full with Darrell Guys fender under him in each turn, but he held him off and took the win. Guy took second, Billy McDaniel third, Justin Bowman fourth and Leonard Barrilleaux fifth.
UMP heat winners were Davin Bates, Brent Ainsworth and Billy Collett. Bates on the pole and Ainsworth outside front row ran wheel to wheel till Ainsworth pulled into the lead. A lap later Bates broke and retired to the pits. Billy Collett chased Ainsworth lap after lap but no body was going to rob Ainsworth of that first feature win. Ainsworth has been coming on strong this year and getting closer to that win, and tonight he took it. Collett took second, Chad Williams third, Jeff Martello fourth and rounding out the top five was Danny Oberwortman.
Matthew Simeon shared heat win for street stock with Brad McKey. Simeon led every lap from Green to Checkered and took the win by 10 car lengths over Tyrone Taylor, Chris Lenoir, Brad McKey came in fourth but was Dqed for having a mirror in his car . Garry Talbert took fourth.
Greg Carpenter and Ernie Kinkaid took the Novice heat wins. Carpenter led every lap of the feature. On the start the two heat winners ran wheel to wheel till Carpenter pulled into the lead. Carpenter led every lap and took the win over Kinkaid, Jack Brumfield, and Lee Roy Callender who started last and finished fourth.
Super stock Billy Gordon took the lead and behind him Neil Temple and Tim Thornton battled side by side for second. Temple took over second then went after Gordon and took the lead from him. Temple went on to win. Gordon second and Johnny Breeland third. Billy Gordon and Stanley Fletcher took the heat wins.
Pike County Speedway was host to the ASCS. Michael Dupuy took the lead over halfway through then spun in turn 2 earning a trip to the rear. Travis Rilat took over the lead and scored the win followed by: 2: Chappell, Zach 3: Wright, Gary 4: Howard, Dale 5: Crawley, Tim 6: Brown, Toby 7: Angelette, Kelly 8: Dupuy, Michael 9: Branchcomb, Cody 10: Behr, Rick 11: Chappell, Stephanie 12: Morgan, Shane 13: Burke Jr., Ronnie 14: David, Butch 15: Raines, A.G. 16: Pennington, Wayne 17: Henderson Jr, Harold 18: Maier, Garry Lee 19: Johnson, Todd 20: La Blanc, Glen 21: Mayfield, Ernest
