MOYER WINS WILD GREEN VALLEY RACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

GLENCOE, AL - Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR won a wild United Dirt Track
Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series 50-lap main event Saturday night at
Green Valley Speedway driving the Petroff Towing/J&J Steel Rayburn/Clements
Taurus. The $10,000 victory was the second of the season for the 1997 UDTRA
Champion.

Moyer started from the pole position, but fell back to the third spot in
the opening laps. Moyer went to the outside groove to battle Ray Cook of
Brasstown, NC and Steve Francis of Ashland, KY for the lead in an exciting
three-wide formation around the 4/10-mile clay oval.

"It was like wrestling match at the beginning of the race because we were
set up to run the high side," Moyer said. "Things were real tight with
a
bunch of cars at the start, but once we got to the outside where we were
set
up to run, the push I had early in the race went out of the car and it came
to life."

Moyer took the lead from Cook on lap 24, and then proceeded to check out
on
the field, to take the checkered flag with over a -lap advantage on Cook,
who finished second in the English Mountain Spring Water GRT/Cornett
Mustang. Cook's second-place finish clinched the JE Pistons Engine Builders
Championship for Cornett Race Engines.

The 1999 UDTRA Champion Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA charged from the
14th starting spot to finish third in the Larry Shaw Race Cars
Rocket/Hatfield Grand Prix. McDowell was able to use an inside move on
restarts in his march to the front that earned him the JE Pistons Hard
Charger of the Race Award.

Francis finished fourth in the Valvoline/Mopar Performance Rocket/Stanton
Intrepid, and UDTRA point leader Rick Eckert of York, PA rounded out the
top
five in the Raye Vest Rocket/Cornett Mustang. Eckert's lead over Francis
in
the UDTRA Championship hunt is now 35 points with three events left in the
season.

Randle Chupp of Mooresville, NC took the sixth spot in the Biscotti's
Restaurant and Winery/Park Ohio Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo, and the defending
and four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN was seventh
in the Miller Brothers Coal Warrior/Custom Mustang.

Bloomquist, who is third in the UDTRA point standings, fell back to 164
points behind Eckert in his "Drive For Five."

Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA brought his Seubert Calf Ranches
Mastersbilt/Pro Power Grand Prix home in the eighth spot, and ninth went
to
Friday night's winner Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI in the Parker Store
Mastersbilt/Pro Power Monte Carlo. Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN
rounded out the top ten in the J&J Steel Barry Wright/Clements Grand Prix.

Cook grabbed the lead at the start of the race from the outside front row
starting spot, while Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN dove under polesitter Moyer
coming off the second turn on lap one. Eckert made things interesting
driving to the outside to make Moyer the meat in the three-wide sandwich.
Cook led the first lap followed by Arp, Moyer, Eckert and Chupp.

Moyer and Eckert drove past Arp on lap two, and Eckert drove under Moyer
for the second spot on lap three. On lap four, Francis and Chupp to moved
up to battle three-wide with Arp for the second spot.

The 1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN brought out the first
caution flag of the race on lap 11 when he stalled his Christenberry
Trucking and Farms GRT/Custom Monte Carlo on the front straightaway. Cook
led Eckert, Moyer, Arp, Chupp, Francis, Bloomquist, Joe Izzo of Chicago,
IL,
Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI, and Johnson back to the green flag.

Francis made a big move on the restart, using the inside groove to move
from sixth to fourth. Chupp moved past Arp for the fifth spot on lap 12,
and Bloomquist then moved up to pass Arp for sixth on lap 14. Arp slowed
off the pace and took his Curtis Equipment GRT/Cornett Mustang to the pits
on lap 15.

Schlieper also found trouble on lap 15 when his Performance Roofing Systems
Rayburn/Pro Power Monte Carlo stalled on the backstretch to turn on the
caution light for a second time. On the restart it was Cook, Eckert, Moyer,
Francis, Chupp, Bloomquist, Izzo in the Jeff's Engine Masters GRT/Pro Power
Monte Carlo, McDowell, Johnson and Mars.

Cook took off when the green flag came out, but behind him, it was Eckert,
Moyer and Francis racing three-wide for second. On lap 17, Moyer and
Francis passed Eckert for the second and third spots respectively, and then
Moyer and Francis battled side-by-side for second. Francis moved under
Moyer on lap 19 for the second spot.

The third caution flag was thrown on lap 20 for debris on the frontstretch.
Cook remained the leader followed by Francis, Moyer, Eckert, Chupp,
McDowell, Bloomquist, Izzo, Birkhofer, and Marshall Green of Dalton, GA
in
the Barto Enterprises Rocket/Hatfield Monte Carlo.

Cook had company on the restart, as Francis looked to the inside, and
pulled along side the leader on lap 22. It was now a battle of Ford versus
Dodge and American Race Tires versus Hoosier Race Tires.

Moyer looked to the top side of the track on lap 23 to make it a three-wide
battle for the lead. Moyer was able to drive around both Francis and Cook
on lap 24 for the lead he would never relinquish.

With Moyer pulling away in the lead, the racing was far from done behind
him. Bill Reed of Knoxville, TN spun his UPS/Die Cast Digest Magazine
GRT/Clements Monte Carlo in turn four to bring out the fourth caution flag.
Moyer led Cook, Francis, Eckert, McDowell, Chupp, Bloomquist, Birkhofer,
Johnson and Mars down for the restart.

McDowell had been using the inside groove on the previous restarts to move
up through the pack, and he continued that trick on this restart, moving
under Eckert for fourth coming off the fourth turn. Moyer pulled away,
as
it seemed his car got faster as the race went on. Moyer found out very
quickly he also had to slow down as quickly as he sped up.

Reed spun for a second time in turn four on lap 35 right in the front of
Moyer. The leader had to slow down quickly and make a fast move to avoid
Reed.

"When Reed spun in front of me, I didn't know which way to go," Moyer said.
"I had to make a quick move, and it was the right one. Everything worked
well on the car tonight, especially the brakes when I needed them the most."

Moyer led Cook, Francis, McDowell, Eckert, Chupp, Bloomquist, Birkhofer,
Mars and Johnson down for the green flag to begin the 16 lap dash to the
finish. McDowell picked up another spot on the restart diving under Francis
for third. McDowell then moved up to challenge Cook for the second spot,
as
Eckert moved up to make it a three-car battle for second.

McDowell was probably hoping for two more caution flags before the end
of
the race, but they did not come, as Moyer pulled out to a full straightaway
lead by lap 40, and Cook held off McDowell and Eckert to claim the second
spot.

Moyer also won the first 10-lap Borla Performance Heat Race and the $50
Scott Performance Wire Bonus Award. Cook took the second heat, and Arp
won
the $100 JE Pistons Bonus Award with a third heat race win. Izzo won the
fourth heat.

Shannon Babb of Decatur, IL won the Renegade Transporters 1st 12-lap
Consolation Race in the Car City Co./Petroff Towing Rayburn/Dickens Monte
Carlo. Rex Richey of Ringgold, GA won the Polaris ATVs 2nd 12-lap
Consolation Race in the U.P.&S. GRT/Russell Baker Monte Carlo.

Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR was the fast qualifier among the 48
entrants with a lap in 14.803 seconds for an average speed of 97.278 miles
per hour. Wallace was leading the first heat when his JFR Graphics/Monday
Motorsports GRT/Russell Baker Grand Prix broke. Wallace charged to sixth
in
his consy, but had to take a provisional to make the main event.

The next event for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series will be Tuesday night at
Atomic Motor Speedway in Knoxville, TN for a 50-lap $10,000-to-win main
event. For race day and ticket information call (865) 986-3589, or visit
their web site at www.atomicmotorspeedway.com. Atomic Motor Speedway is
loc
ated west of Knoxville at I-40 and exit 364.
