Advanced Wireless To Sponsor Legends Weekend
New Egypt, NJ (September 14) -- Advanced Wireless, the region's full-service
wireless superstores, and premier wireless provider Sprint PCS have signed
on as primary sponsors of New Egypt Speedway's season-ending Legends of the
Fall weekend, to be held on October 13 and 14. It is the first year the
track's annual tribute program honoring the region's former driving
champions will be run over two days, and Advanced Wireless and Sprint PCS
are pleased to underwrite the expanded and very popular event.
"Sprint PCS has long played a visible role in auto racing on the national
level. We're thrilled to follow Sprint's lead and become involved with
grassroots racing, right in our home town of New Egypt," said Matt Lyons,
president of Advanced Wireless, which services customers from five New
Jersey locations -- Hamilton, McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Monmouth, the
newest store in the Six Flags Outlet Mall in Jackson, and downtown New
The Legends of the Fall weekend will feature the Advanced Wireless 25 for
URC Sprints and the Samsung 50 for Sportsman cars on Saturday. The 50-lap
Sportsman event, paying a hefty $3,000 to win, is open to all drivers.
On Sunday, Modifieds will jockey for $5,000 to win the Sprint PCS 50, while
the Touchpoint 30 for Street Stocks will pay a cool grand to the winner.
On both days, the track will honor former driving heroes from the '50s,
'60s, '70s and '80s with a Saturday luncheon sponsored by Advanced Wireless,
interviews, autograph sessions with collectible autograph cards, and an
exhibition of beautifully restored race cars by the Garden State Vintage
Stock Car Club.
Advanced Wireless and Sprint PCS will also present fan giveaways and product
demos throughout the weekend.
Gates open at 12 noon on both days and racing gets underway at 2:30 pm when
Advanced Wireless and Sprint PCS present New Egypt's Legends of the Fall
weekend on October 13 and 14. Adult admission is $18 on Saturday, $20 on
Sunday. Adults can purchase a two-day ticket for $35. Children ages 7-12 are
$7 both days; a two-day children's ticket is $12, and kids 6 and under are
