TIM ARRE WINS SECOND STRAIGHT MODIFIED RACE AT
WALL STADIUM SATURDAY NIGHT

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Tim Arre of Toms River took over the lead in the
feature winner's department in the Neptune Research Modified stock car
division at Wall Stadium Saturday night by taking his fourth victory of the
2001 Coors Light/NAPA Auto Parts Racing Series. Saturday's victory in the
50-lap "Mike Mazzara Memorial" was also Arre's second straight victory.

Arre's Ford powered racer started the race in the 16th spot, while
youngster Ryan Seaman of Toms River rocketed into the lead. Soon Seaman was
battling with Brian Scisco of Bradley Beach for the as the first ten laps
went into the record books without a problem. The Seaman/Scisco fight for
first finally boiled over with 14 laps down when the duo tangled exiting the
second turn. Scisco's mount then ramped over the nose of Seaman's car and
flipped on its roof before sliding upside down the length of the backstretch.
Scisco climbed from his battered mount uninjured.

Veterans Dave Garfinkel of Absecon and Dave Michel of Manahawkin took up
the first for first on the restart as Arre soon moved into contention. Arre
soon advanced to second and took command of the race on a lap 22 restart.

Tim Arre then raced on to victory, with title contenders Harry Reed of
Freehold and Jimmy Blewett of Howell finishing second and third. Mike
Carpenter of Brick was fourth and Felix Verlangieri of Lavallette was fifth.

Point leader Chas Okerson of Freehold rocketed to the lead on a lap five
restart and then raced in to his third NGK Spark Plugs Pro Stock victory of
the campaign. Early leader Kenny Reaves of Piscataway posted his best finish
of the year by crossing the finish line second, while Neptune's George
Andretta, defending champ Rob Williams of Farmingdale and Jim Vogt, also of
Farmingdale, completed the top five.

Jackson's Greg Gastelu drove into the winner's circle for the third time
this season in the 20-lapper for the Garage Door Express Street Stocks. Steve
Costello of Lakewood and Brick's Ron Frees were a tight second and third.
Current point leader John McCormack of Farmingdale was fourth and defending
champion Larry Thompson of Parlin was fifth.

Chris Olcott of Linwood won his third 20-lapper of the season for the
Monmouth Truck Equipment Truck Series racers over the Absecon based brother
racing team of Steve and Phil Naylor. In the Weiss' Boots and Apparel Legend
Car 20-lapper, race leader Jim Tomaino spun with just a few laps remaining
and allowed point leader John Menzak of Flemington to drive in for his second
win this season. Rob Riker and John Kotlarchick were second and third.

"Bill Chevalier Classic" this Saturday night (Sept. 15). In addition, the
Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Legend Cars and Truck Series racers
