RANDY CHRYSLER AND DAVE VOGT CLAIM 2 FEATURE WINS EACH AT GASPORT
SPEEDWAY

Double features were run at Gasport Speedway Sunday Night to
close out the season due to last weeks rain storm. Randy " The Rocket"
Chrysler and Dave Vogt took home 2 wins each in the Sportsman and Street
Stock classes. Kenny Sargent and Bill Bleich also claimed Pro Stock wins
and Jamie Gilbert and Jake Adair took home wins inthe mini Stocks.
The first Sportsman 20 lap feature Randy Chrysler took the lead
on lap 8 from early leaders Dwayne Winfield and Brad Rouse to pick up
his 3rd feature in a row. Chrysler ws followed by Adam Ferri, Rouse, Rob
Pietz and Darrell Ebersole. Brian Page won the the 1 remaining heat win.
Billy Bleich and Danny Gilbert led the first 12 lap Pro Stock
feature to the green and Bleich went uncontested for the win. Bleich was
followed by Gilbert, Stan Zanchin, Ken Sargent, and Jeff Dayman.
In the first 15 lap Street Stock feature Dave Vogt took the
lead on lap 3 from early leader Jason Fontaine to collect his firs
Gasport feature win ever. Next in line was Fontaine, Nick Micallef, Mark
Loveland, and Jason Harper.
The first 15 lap Mini Stock feature was won by Jamie Gilbert as
he took the lead from ealy leader Alex Wheldon on lap 2 to pick up the
win.
The regularly scheduled Al "Pops" Winger Memorial Points
Championships then took to the track for season finale in all classes
with Champ points.
The 30 Sportsman feature was again won by Randy Chrysler as he
showed his dominance making it 4 wins in a row and 2nd of the night.
Chrysler took the lead on lap 25 from Rob Pietz and Jeff Leggett who led
the early going. Chrysler who pitted back on lap 6 still showed the fast
way around the outside. The red flew as Adam Ferri lost control making
contact with Brian Page in turn 4 and later was hit by Jason Pietz was
hit hard and checked out. Chrysler was followed by Rob Pietz, Brian
Page, Darrell Ebersole, and Paul Gaboury.
The 30 lap Street Stocks was claimed by Dave Vogt as he was
winless all season and went 2 for 2 for the evening. Vogt took the lead
from early leaders Matt Gillingham, Nick Micallef and Mark Loveland.
Micallef and Loveland were running 1 and 2 on lap 24 and both pitted for
flat tires under caution. The red flew on lap 28 with Vogt leading as
Randy Beck rolled his car in turn 4 but he was alright. Vogt was
followed at the checker by Gordie Edwards, Loveland, Aaron Vasas, and
Fred Korton.
Ken Sargent took home the win in the 15 lap Pro Stock feature
from early leaders Dave Gifford and Jeff Dayman. Sargent was followed by
Dnny Gilbert, Billy Bleich, Dayman and Stan Zanchin.
In the 20 lap Mini Stocks Jake Adair took the lead in his s10
pickup truck from the start and claimed the win. Adair had a great
exchange for the lead wth Mke Baxter but Adair would take hold of the
lead ad the win. Adair was followed by Baxter, Mike "Pinball" Giberson,
Jon Weatherbee, and Norm Mark.
The Micro Sprints impressed the crowd with their speed as Wade
Dates took the lead from early leader John Venuto to get the win. Dates
was followed by Mark Bradley, Greg Putney, Venuto, and Nathan Blum. The
Sprint heats wer won by Mark Bradley and John Venuto as fast times
around 16.650 were turned by the Micro Sprints.
The 10 lap Street Stock Non Winners race was won by Jason
Fontaine as he led the distance for the win.
An 8 lap Street Socks mechanics race was held Jack Winger was
the victor in the event.
And the night was capped off with a 4 cylinder Mini Demolition
Derby and the winner was Rob Goulden.
Pit Notes: Gasport Speedway's Points Champions for the season are
Sportsman: Rob Pietz for the 3rd time in 4 years, Kenny Sargent took the
Pro Stock title, Mark Loveland in the Street Stocks and Norm Mark in the
Mini Stocks. All top 3 finishers in the Al "Pops" Winger Championships
will receive their rewards at the Gasport Banquet on December 1st at
Welland's Ukrainian Cultural Center, 40 McCabe St. A full crowd was on
hand to bring the season to a close and all fans and sponsors are to be
thanked in Gasport's 44th season. Gasport Banquet tickets are on sale
now until November 15th being the cuttoff date with NO TICKETS being
