DURBORAW RUNS AWAY WITH MCBEE/HAYS MEMORIAL AT HAGERSTOWN
Starting in the eighth spot, Nathan Durboraw of Hagerstown tracked down
Mark Elksnis to take the lead on the 19th lap and led the rest of the way to
win the 44-lap Ronnie McBee/Speedy Hays Memorial for the ITSI late models at
the Hagerstown Speedway Saturday night. Durboraw's fourth win of the year
was worth $2,000 and was his second McBee/Hays Memorial.
"I normally get pretty pumped up for this race, man I tell you I ran the
wheels of this race car," said Durboraw after winning his 64th career late
model win at Hagerstown. "He (Elksnis) was running real good on the outside
and I wanted to make a clean pass. He ran a real good race and when I got by
him he kept coming back beside me on the outside. It was a great race to
win."
In other action, Marvin Winters of Mercersburg shook off the challenges of
Richard Walls to record his tenth win of the year in the 20-lap late model
sportsman feature. Kenny Dillon of Hanover exchanged the lead several times
with Eugene Conlee before finishing on top for his first win in the 15-lap
pure stock feature and Josh Angle of Stateline won his fifth 10-lap pure
stock main event.
