EVENING RAIN STOPS COORS LIGHT/NAPA AUTO PARTS RACING SERIES -- "RAY GASTELU
MEMORIAL" ACTION RESET AT WALL STADIUM FOR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT (AUGUST 18)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Scattered afternoon showers and the forecast for more
during the evening forced Wall Stadium officials to postpone the scheduled
"Ray Gastelu Memorial" Saturday night (August 11). This was the second
straight week that the memorial events fell to rain. The season will now
continue this Saturday night, August 18, at 7:00 p.m. with the rescheduled
running of the "Ray Gastelu Memorial" events.
This coming Saturday night's (August 18) competition will see the Neptune
Research and Development Modifieds compete in a 30-lap main event, while the
NGK Spark Plugs Pro Stocks will battle in a double point, 50-lapper. The
Garage Door Express Street Stocks, Monmouth Truck Equipment Truck Series
racers and the Weiss' Boots and Apparel Legend Cars will all also be on the
card in 20-lap main events. Racing starts at 7:00 p.m., while a special Pro
Stock time trial session is set for 6:30 p.m.
The night will also be special as the owners of hot rod cars will be
welcomed back for Hot Rod Night at Wall Stadium. This special evening was
first set for the rained out August 4 program.
This coming weekend will also see Sunday night action as another
Championship Demolition Derby is on the schedule along with Street Stock and
Three-Quarter Midget racing action. Spectator gates open at 6:00 p.m. on
Sunday night, with action starting promptly at 7:00 p.m.
