JOHN BLEWETT LEADS BROTHER JIMMY TO MODIFIED CHECKER FLAG SATURDAY NIGHT AT
WALL STADIUM

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ It all came down to a battle of the Blewett brothers in
the Downs Ford Motorsports 30-lap Neptune Research Modified main event
Saturday night at Wall Stadium and John Blewett III of Howell had the upper
hand as he raced to his second feature win of the year. The difference may
have come down to a transmission.

Saturday's Coors Light/NAPA Auto Parts main event started with Dan
McLaughlin, Jr. of Toms River the leader, but it took Jimmy Blewett only a
few laps to race into contention. By lap four Jimmy Blewett was the leader,
but by lap 11 John Blewett was up to second spot.

Due to a malfunctioning third gear in his transmission, Jimmy Blewett
would lead the field slowly back to the green flag on every restart and that
might have been the difference when John Blewett took command near the half
way mark. John Blewett then paced the field to the checker flag, with Jimmy
Blewett second and Tim Arre a very tight third. Dave Michel of Manahawkin
held off the challenges of Brick's Mike Carpenter for fourth.

Defending NGK Spark Plugs Pro Stock champion Rob Williams of Farmingdale
raced to his second straight win in the companion 25-lapper. Point leader
Chas Okerson of Freehold chased him most of the way to finish second, while
Wally LaCicero of Lavallette was third. Jim Vogt of Farmingdale and former
Scott Davidson of Freehold were fourth and fifth.

Anthony Crimaldi of Port Monmouth won a hard fought Garage Door Express
Street Stock 20-lap main event fighting off the assaults of Rich Gould of
North Brunswick in the closing laps. Corey Titley of Tenant took home third
place money, while Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood and Jackson's Greg Gastelu
were fourth and fifth.

With the top four cars slicing and dicing for position during the final
laps, the Neptune Research Three-Quarter Midget 25-lap feature race had
everyone in the large crowd on their feet. On the final lap, Mike Tidaback of
Little Falls slipped into the lead and then grabbed his second straight
checker flag. Newcomer Tim Fulg was second, while Don Zrinski, Tim Adams and
Doug Sherwood completed the tight top five.

Linwood's Chris Olcott fought off the challenges of Absecon's Phil Naylor
to win the 20-lapper for the Monmouth Truck Equipment Truck Series, while
Steve Naylor was a close third. Tim Buckley and Chris Kilbride, the 2000
co-champions, were fourth and fifth.

The 20-lapper for the Weiss' Boots and Apparel Legend Cars was also a
thriller. Late in the race point leader John Menzak of Whitehouse Station and
JJ Jensen of Brick were wrestling for the lead when they tangled on the front
stretch. This gave Howell's Brian Gardella just enough room to slip through
and take the win. Menzak held on for second, while Tony Nalgieri, Joe
Robertazzi and Rudy Rinderer completed the top five.

The shore speedway features the Modified stock cars in the annual Garage
Door Express Garden State Classic 100 this Saturday night. The Pro Stocks,
Street Stocks, Truck Series and Legend Cars will battle in regular distance
main events with the first qualifying event starting at 7:00 p.m. A special
Modified time trial session is slated for 6:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at
5:00 p.m.

Wall Stadium is located on Rt. 34 in Wall Township, N.J. just a mile north of
Garden State Parkway Exit 98 and Interstate 195 Exit 35B. The speedway
