FRANK WINS THIRD OF THE SEASON AT WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY

ORRVILLE, OH - Chub Frank of Sugar Grove, PA picked up his second straight
United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series victory at Wayne
County Speedway Saturday night, and his third of the 2001 season, driving
the Mac Trailers Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo in the 50-lap main event.

The race got off to a slow start, but the track came to life during the
second half of the race, as Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH charged up from
the sixth starting spot and closed in to challenge the defending race
champion for the top spot.

"I knew somebody was out there, and I kept seeing the nose of a race car,
but I didn't know who it was," Frank said. "My crew signaled to me to
change my line a little bit and pick up the pace. Once I did that, I didn't
see anybody the rest of the way."

Hartman finished second driving the Morehead Auto Parts GRT/Russell Baker
Monte Carlo. Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA drove the Rocket Chassis
Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo to third spot, and fourth went to UDTRA point
leader Rick Eckert of York, PA in the Raye Vest Rocket/Cornett Mustang.

Randle Chupp of Mooresville, NC rounded out the top five in the Biscotti's
Restaurant/Park Ohio Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo. The defending and four-time
UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN took the sixth spot in
the
Miller Brothers Coal Warrior/Pro Power Mustang, and Ray Cook of Brasstown,
NC was seventh in the English Mountain Spring Water GRT/Cornett Mustang.

Mike Balzano of Parkersburg, WV drove his Eddie's Auto Parts Rocket/Russell
Baker Monte Carlo to an eighth place finish, and Wendell Wallace of
Batesville, AR finished ninth in the JFR Graphics/Monday Motorsports Grand
Prix.

Steve Francis of Ashland, KY started 21st and finished 10th in the
Valvoline/Mopar Performance Rocket/Stanton Intrepid to earn the JE Pistons
Hard Charger of the Race Award. Francis now trails Eckert in the UDTRA
Pro
DirtCar Series championship battle by 202 points.

The race got off to a spectacular start, as a multi-car pileup in turn
two
on the first lap involved Steve Boley of West Liberty, IA, John Mason of
Millersburg, OH, Mark Osburn of Kingsville, OH and Scott James of
Lawrenceburg, IN. That necessitated a complete restart.

As the field got the one-to-go signal, a light shower began to fall over
the speedway. The cars continued to circle the track under caution for
15
minutes in an effort to keep the racing surface rolled in. Once the shower
cleared the area, and the field packed the track back in, and the green
flag
came out.

Frank led the field into the first turn from his outside front row starting
spot followed by
polesitter Matt Miller of Toledo, OH, Cook, Johnson, and Chupp. On lap
two,
Hartman drove around the outside of Chupp to take the fifth spot.

Boley cut down a tire on his Ron Alpen Ford Mastersbilt/Cornett Mustang
to
bring out the second caution flag of the race. The third caution flag came
out on lap 11 when Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI stalled his Parker Store
Mastersbilt/Pro Power Monte Carlo in turn two.

Miller dropped out of second place on lap 24 when his Low-Temp Racing
Rocket/Russell Baker Grand Prix slowed stalled on the backstretch to bring
out the fourth caution flag of the event. Frank brought the field down
for
the restart followed by Cook, Johnson, Hartman, and Chupp. On lap 27,
Hartman stepped to the outside groove and began to battle Johnson for third
spot.

For the next three laps, Johnson and Hartman took turns in the third
position. Hartman had the advantage down the backstretch, but Johnson could
repass him down the frontstretch. On lap 30, Hartman made his backstretch
pass stick for the third spot, and he began to close in on Cook for the
second spot.

Hartman raced around the outside of Cook for the second spot on lap 34,
and
Eckert passed Chupp for the fifth spot on lap 35. On lap 37, Cook started
experiencing brake problems, and Johnson moved up to the third spot on lap
38.

Frank's big lead evaporated on lap 39, as Hartman began to race
side-by-side with Frank for the lead, as Frank approached the last cars
on
the lead lap. Coming off the fourth turn on lap 40, Hartman slapped the
guardrail, and lost his momentum.

Hartman was able to catch up to the leader on lap 47 when Steve Shaver
brought out the final caution flag when he stalled his Simonton
Windows/Poske's Performance Rocket/Malcuit Monte Carlo in turn two. Hartman
was unable to challenge Frank in the four-lap dash to the checkered flag.

Miller was the fast qualifier among the 45 entrants with a lap around the
3/8-mile dirt oval in 17.571 seconds for an average speed of 76.831 miles
per hour. Miller also won the 1st 10-lap Borla Performance Heat Race to
earn the pole position for the main event.

Frank picked up an extra $100 to his $10,000 winning portion by claiming
the
JE Pistons Bonus Award with a 2nd heat race victory. Frank has only
competed in 14 of 28 events in the 2001 UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series season,
but
he has pocketed $62,100 in earnings.

Cook won the third heat race, and Chupp took the fourth heat race win.
Mars
won the Renegade Transporters 1st 10-lap Consolation Race, and Balzano won
the Polaris ATVs 2nd 10-lap Consolation Race.

The next event for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series will be on July 14 at
Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD for a 50-lap $10,000-to-win main
event. On July 15, America's Favorite Show On Dirt moves to West Virginia
Motor Speedway in Parkersburg, WV for a 50-lap $10,000-to-win main event.
