WALLACE WALKS AWAY WITH THIRD UDTRA WIN OF THE YEAR IN TWIN CITIES OPENER
Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR held off an early race challenge from
defending and four-time United Dirt Track Racing Association Champion Scott
Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN to win the 50-lap main event Friday night for
the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon,
IN.
Wallace earned $10,100 for winning his 24th career UDTRA victory and jumped
from sixth to fourth in the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series point standings after
23 events.
Bloomquist challenged Wallace early and often in the first half of the
race, but lost the leader after a late race caution with seven laps to go,
and had to settle for second, with Bob Pierce finishing third.
York's Rick Eckert finished 10th and now holds a 132 point lead over Steve
Francis. Francis was involved in an opening lap accident which took him out
of contention. Francis was credited with a 19th-place finish.
