PITTSBURGH'S PENNSYLVANIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Media Contact: Judy Gower (724) 853-RACE/www.ppms.com

IMPERIAL, PA…Sophomore sensation Keith Barbara of South Park claimed his
third QPI Tools Late Model win of the season Saturday, on Colussy Chevrolet
night, at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Danny "The Danimal" Rich
of Imperial won for the second time in the Limited Late Models. Monaca's
Russ Matejka made it two in a row in the E-Modifieds, and Rich Apolito of
Carnegie rolled to his eighth Isiminger's Pennzoil Pure Stock checkered flag.
Robinson Township's Bob Schwartzmiller collected his second Amateur Stock
victory, and heavy rains forced a four-way tie in the Demolition Derby
between Tim Paul, Eric Goldberg, Jeremy Wall and Robbie Haught.

Steve Baker, subbing again for Ben Miley in car #99, appeared to have the
QPI Tools Late Model feature in the bag before a late race caution. Baker,
"The West Virginia Rim Rider", had led from the start before a caution on lap
21, that saw the second place car of Mike Cecere and the third place car of
Lou Bradich crash hard between turns three and four. Bradich had charged
from twelfth after winning last week, and was able to return to the race, but
Cecere wasn't as fortunate. Barbara inherited second on the restart and
quickly darted by Baker for the lead. Once in front, Barbara set sail to the
checkered flag. Point's leader Mark Banal made a great last lap move to claim
third. Jason Cisson was fourth and Dave Wade, who was caught up in an
earlier accident, blazed his way to fifth. Jim Lepro, Doug Crawford, Ed
Ferree, Bradich and Jim Zarin completed the top ten. Banal and Cecere won
the heat races. Ferree was the Monarch Oil Hard Charger.

It was wire to wire for Danny Rich in the Limited Late Model feature. "The
Danimal" was never seriously threatened in stopping Al Atallah's two race
winning streak. Atallah was still a solid second with 16-year-old Tony
Musolino bringing home a career best third. Pete Loria and Mike Morgan
rounded out the top five. Bobby Castelveter was sixth, George Kowatic
seventh, Vince Teatino eighth, Kirk Young ninth and Jon Hodgkiss tenth.
Monarch Oil Hard Charger Kowatic and Loria won the preliminaries.

Mike Anderson and Stush Sadowski swapped the lead early in the E-Modified
main event. Russ Matejka methodically worked his way to the front and took
the lead from Sadowski on lap five. Once in front, Matejka pulled away for
his third win of the season. Kurt Halbedl, Sadowski, Anderson and Matt Smith
completed the top five. Six through ten were: Larry Kugel, Scott Gunn, Ralph
Hysong Jr, Jeff Broniszewski and Jeff Bametzrider. Matejka also won the
heat and was the Monarch Oil Hard Charger.

Craig Kamicker, in search of his first career win, led the first eleven
laps of the Isiminger's Pennzoil Pure Stock feature. With four circuits
remaining, Rich Apolito showed his muscle to move ahead of Kamicker, who
settled for second. Darryl Robison was third, Stacie White fourth and Ron
O'Patchin (subbing for Charlie DiLoreto in car #11) fifth. Dave Beck was
sixth, A.J. Poljak seventh, Brian Scheller eighth, Neal Isiminger ninth, and
Joe Anthony tenth. Apolito was the Monarch Oil Hard Charger. Doug Foster
and Beck won the heat races.

Bob Schwartzmiller dominated the Amateur Stock feature. Gabe Hahka was
second, John Cain third, Ian Tomei fourth and Bobby Siemon fifth.

This Saturday, July 7th, is the 20 lap Danny Burns Memorial for the
E-Modifieds paying $690 to win, with regular racing for the QPI Tools Late
Models, Limited Late Models, Isiminger's Pennzoil Pure Stocks, and Amateur
Stocks. It's also driver autograph night with all kids 12 and under admitted
free. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. For more information call (724)
