North Alabama Speedway results from June 15

Corinth, Mississippi's Chris Ragan performed a clean sweep Friday night
at North Alabama Speedway by setting fast time with a 14.558 clocking
the winning his fifth feature event of 2000. Ragan is the only driver at
NAS to win on back to back weeks this season (although Brandon King won
consecutive features, his were both accomplished on the same night).
Second place went to points leader Mark Sartain who was running fourth
with only four laps remaining then charged around Dale Ledlow for third
on lap twenty two and slipped by Mike Holloway for the runner-up spot on
the final circuit. Holloway finished third, Ledlow was fourth and Les
Howell came from his ninth starting position to grab fifth place.

The Open Wheel Main event was led early by Derrick White before Jason
Sullivan acquired the point. Sullivan would go on to garner his third
win of the season as White finished second with Greg Wilhite and points
leader Randy Todd getting by Jeff Tate in the final two circuits to grab
third and fourth. Tate took the fifth spot. Columbus, Mississippi
hotshoe, Jason Hollis was involved in a hard crash at the start on heat
race number two and could not make repairs in time for the main event.
White and Sullivan were the heat winners.

Roger Brewer won the heat race but Scottie Shaw outdueled Dwayne
Parsons in a stirring mid race battle to garner the victory. Point
leader Parsons took the Place position while Brewer settled for the Show

Street Stock competitor Tim Harris had not had a runner-up finish let
alone a victory at NAS in 2001. In fact Tim had only two Top 5's all
season, before Friday night that is. Tim corrected those problems by
winning his heat race then topping Chris Sims for his first win of 2001.
Shawn Mitchell experienced an early flat tire then came from the rear to
finish third in the main event. Len ****s won the other Street Stock
heat race.

Logan Mize had nine Top 5 finishes before Friday nights action and had
four second place runs in the last six events but zero victories. Until
Friday night, when the young hotshoe slipped by heat winner Rodney
Weaver at the beginning of the feature then charged to his first win of
the year in front of Shane Parker and Weaver in the Mini Stock Class.

Action continues this Friday night at North Alabama Speedway as the
Southern All-Stars come to town with their contingent of the top Late
Model drivers in the southeast. Be there this Friday night for the 50
Lap Super Late Model show. Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing at 8:00 PM.
