Duck River Speedway, June 16
Last Saturday night David Gentry came up short in the Late Model main event but on this Saturday night, Gentry made a clean sweep by setting quick time at 14.446 then winning the 25 lap main event. The start of the feature saw Gentry and Henry Hanger go side by side for two laps before David could clear the determined Hanger but once in front Gentry would go unchallenged the rest of the way. Hanger stayed close until two laps to go when his racer went up in flames. With a major engine fire under the hood of the Donnie and Jimmy Pogue Later Model, Hanger drove straight for the infield pond(left by Friday evenings downpour) and extinguished the fire himself. The race would go to completion with Allen Carter grabbing another great finish behind Gentry. Two time track champion David Thompson was third with Shannon Davis and Rick Curren taking Top 5 finishes.

That is until Saturday night. Kennedy fought back a tenacious Jeff Roberson and Blake Carte to post win number five and his thirteenth Top 5 of the season. Roberson settled for the runner-up spot while Johnny Crowell slipped by Carter for third on the final lap. Bo Owens had his best finish of the year grabbing fifth. If you look in the dictionary under "dominance" you just may see a picture of Michael Chumbley as the points leader won his 9th feature of the year and grabbed his fourteenth Top 5 of the year. Both are Speedway bests! Anthony Seibers, Doug Chumbley and Stanley James were second through fourth. David Wallace came from the rear to finish fifth as the veteran has really been strong the last couple of weeks. Michael Chumbley and Gary Reid were the heat winners.
