CRAIG VON DOHREN TAKES FIRST BIG DIAMOND WIN OF 2001;
2ND WINS FOR FITZPATRICK IN SPORTSMAN, ULSH IN ROADRUNNERS

Forestville, PA (June 15) - Craig Von Dohren of Barto, PA piloted the BRB
Racing/Mrs. T's Perogies 114 to his first Big Diamond Raceway feature win of
2001 in NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Modified action on Friday night. It
raised Von Dohren's all-time win total at Big Diamond to a track-leading 43
feature wins.
Shawn Fitzpatrick of Branchdale, PA took his second win of the year in
the NASCAR ShorTrack Sportsman while John Ulsh of Summit Station, PA got back
on track for his second Roadrunner win of 2001.
Von Dohren overtook early Modified leader Larry Kelleher on lap 13 and
then held off a late charge from Duane Howard (Oley) for the 25-lap feature
win. Kelleher (Scranton) finished third followed by Glenn Strunk (Boyertown),
Bob Trapper (Scranton), Ray Swinehart (Bechtelsville), Jack Hartnett
(Telford), Kyle Weiss (Hamburg), Dennis Bailey (Kutztown) and Smokey Warren
(Jonestown).
In the Sportsman feature, Fitzpatrick took the lead from John Deatrich
on lap 4 of 20. Fitzpatrick never looked back and won over Ed Scott (New
Tripoli), Joe Biasi, Jr. (Tamaqua), Scott Singley (Milford, NJ), Deatrich
(Pottsville), Bill Moyer, Jr. (Pine Grove), Jeff Paulson (Honeybrook), Jeff
Graby (Grantville), Ricky Rutt (Phillipsburg, NJ) and Dave Dissinger
(Mohrsville).
John Ulsh's did not get the 15-lap Roadrunner feature lead until lap 14.
Looking for their first career wins, Dave Winslow (Fleetwood) led the opening
nine laps and Chris Bowers (Minersville) led 10 through 13. But Ulsh got by
to take his second win over Bower, Barry Schrader (Orwigsburg), Cory
Renninger (Llewellyn) and Dave Miller (Pine Grove).
