PITTSBURGH'S PENNSYLVANIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

6/9/01
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IMPERIAL, PA - "99" was a big winner in more than one location Saturday
night. While Donnie Moran drove his number "99" Late Model to an unheard of
Million Dollar win in Ohio, Venetia's Ben Miley put his car, sporting the
same number, in the QPI Tools Late Model winner's circle for the fourth time
this year at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

George Kowatic of Moon Township claimed his second Limited Late Model feature
of the season. West Mifflin's Scott Gunn graced victory lane for the first
time this campaign in the E-Modifieds. It was win number two for
Washington's Neal Isiminger in the Isiminger's Pennzoil Pure Stocks, and
Steve "Skeets" Levandosky of Finleyville rolled to his very first Amateur
Stocks victory.

It's not often that you can get caught up in a heat race wreck and still
start from the front row of the feature, but that was the case in the QPI
Tools Late Models. An invert twelve draw put Ben Miley outside pole for the
25-lap feature, and he promptly led wire to wire for the win. Mike Cecere
challenged Miley at different points, but settled for second. Dave Wade had a
career best third. Alex Ferree, subbing for his father - Ed, claimed fourth
with Jim Zarin fifth. Jim Lepro, Mark Banal, Jason Cisson, Mark Moats and
Rody Exposito completed the top ten. Banal and Cisson won the heat races.
Cecere was the Monarch Oil Hard Charger.

Not to be outdone, George Kowatic followed Miley's lead, and likewise
registered a wire-to- wire victory in the Limited Late Models. Wayne Tessean
was second, Monarch Oil Hard Charger - Al Atallah - third, Danny Rich fourth,
and Mike Morgan fifth. Tommy Marshall III (subbing for Brian Laraway) was
sixth, Tony Musolino seventh, Tom Schirnhofer eighth, Louie Bradich ninth,
and Tom Duratz tenth. Rich and Bob Damron were the heat race winners.

Scott Gunn found the tacky surface to his liking in the E-Modified feature.
Starting eighth, Gunn blasted on the outside into the lead on lap two, and
was never headed in getting his second career win. Kurt Halbedl was second,
Mike Anderson third, Vince Laboon fourth, and Jeff Bametzrider fifth.
Rounding out the top ten were: Larry Kugel, Bobby Bongiorni, Fred Varney,
Randy McElhaney, and Matt Smith. Ralph Hysong Jr and Jeff Broniszewski both
escaped injury in a hard crash on the front stretch. Halbedl captured the
heat race. Gunn was also the Monarch Oil Hard Charger.

A fourth lap caution that involved race leader Craig Kamicker put Darryl
Robison and Neal Isiminger in front for the restart in the Pure Stock
feature. Isiminger took the point and never looked back in collecting the
checkered flag. A hard race behind him saw Charlie DiLoreto charge from
twelfth to second. Rich Apolito came from eleventh to third, and Doug
Foster finished fourth after starting tenth. Darryl Robison was fifth and
completing the top ten were Stacie White, Gary Smith, A.J. Puljak, Kamicker
and Mark Jaworski. DiLoreto was the Monarch Oil Hard Charger. Apolito and
Foster won the preliminaries.

Skeets Levandosky drove to his first Amateur Stock win followed by Bobby
Siemon in second, with John Cain III third, Joshua Langer fourth and Ian
Tomei fifth.

This Saturday, June 16th, the QPI Tools Late Models will run Twin 20's with
the companion divisions also in action. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm.
