MOTHER NATURE CLAIMS ANOTHER WEEKEND OF RACING AT NEBRASKA RACEWAY PARK -
June 4, 2001 - Greenwood, NE - Nebraska Raceway Park lost another night due
to the rainy week preceeding Sunday nights event. No Frills Supermarket's
Kids Night at Nebraska Raceway Park was another casualty in the 2001 season,
also lost was the rescheduled Kids vs. The Cat from Nebraska Machinery.
When racing has been held, the action has been highly competitive and very
exciting. On the season in the NASCAR Super Late Models, #53 Joe Kosiski
and #76 Al Zeitner are tied for first place, with 86 points each followed by
#1K John Anderson with 84 points. #3 Mike Collins holds the top spot in the
Walker Uniform Rental Grand Nationals with 124 points on the season. In
second place is Dave Cook #98 with 112 points and #2K Jody Krug in third
with 106 points. #19 Mark Day, with 597 points has a narrow lead over #75
Scott Anderson, with 591 points in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Pro-Ams. Rick
Negrete #72 is in third with 541 points. In the Jasper Engines and
Transmissions Hobby Stocks #73 Travis Alley has a commanding lead with 400
points over #55 Joe Feyen with 363 points. #21 TN Tony Pavic rounds out the
top three with 349 points.
Up next for Nebraska Raceway Park is Craftsman Tools night this Sunday, June
10 featuring the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. In addition to exciting
racing action in all four divisions will be the Kids vs. The Cat tug of war
by Nebraska Machinery. Then on Sunday, June 17 Godfather's Pizza presents
the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series and Demolition Derby I. On June 24, No
Frills Supermarkets will again host Kids Night and the NASCAR Weekly Racing
Series with goody bags for all kids 12 and under while supplies last. Gates
are scheduled to open at 4:30 p.m. with racing at 6:00 p.m. for each night.
Nebraska Raceway Park is a 4/10 mile, semi-banked dirt oval located in
Greenwood, NE. The track races every Sunday night featuring the NASCAR
Weekly Racing Series. The track also hosts the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, O
'Reilly Auto Parts All Star Series and the NSCA Sprint Series. Nebraska
Raceway Park is located on I-80 at exit #420 between Omaha and Lincoln.
